Since 2007 XPRO Consulting has been assisting the European Commission in:

XPRO Consulting since 2003 has been involved in three major environmental initiatives funded by the European Commission:
Science, Technology and Policy Interfacing Using WISE-RTD, EU FP7 Project
XPRO Consulting is leading the dissemination and communication activities of this 2-year EU funded project running from 2011 until 2013. The WISE-RTD Project will extende the Knowledge Portal WISE-RTD to include other environmental EU directives such as the Flood Directive and the Ground Water Directive. WISE-RTD will become a strong Knowledge Broker between scientists, policy-makers and the environmental water technologies sector. It is the goal of the project that through the WISE-RTD to facilitate bridging the gap between these three stakeholders towards a better uptake of FP environmental RTD results with tangible impact on economic growth and social welfare. XPRO Consulting is responsible for dissemination using different user-friendly media including a novel eLearning programme. Innovative dissemination tools and activities will direct to different audiences/stakeholders at targeted national and/or international level including policy makers, researchers and industries.
Science-Policy Interface in support of the Water Framework Directive implementation, EU FP6 Project XPRO Consulting actively participated as a partner in this contract awarded by the European Commission under the Scientific Support to Policies Programme. SPI-Water was a 2-year project aiming to enhance the interfacing between Science and Policy with respect to the Water Framework Directive Implementation. It was an important Knowledge Management initiative, creating the WISE-RTD knowledge-portal acting as a switch-board to all projects relating to the Water Framework Directive and funded by the European Union. XPRO Consulting`s role was the identification and knowledge management of the research projects under the EU Framework Programme 6 (FP6).
Screening methods for Water data InFormation in support of the implementation of the Water Framework Directive, EU FP6 Project
XPRO Consulting was a partner in the 3-year EU-project SWIFT-WFD ,18 countries, which aimed to support the application of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) through novel water screening methods. One of the many goals of the project was to demonstrate that low-cost emerging screening methods can be used for water monitoring. These methods have been demonstrated in several European Water Basins. XPRO Consulting assisted with the integration of the SWIFT innovations and technical findings to: EU Common Implementation Strategy of WFD
at national implementation, local level and public participation.
XPRO Consulting wrote the Best Practice Guide summarising the experiences and lessons learnt for these emerging analytical methods. The Best Practice Guide disseminates the project`s knowledge to water policy makers and water managers.
