Co-Designing Responsible Innovation in Detection Technologies
Within the Horizon Europe DETECTIVE project, XPRO Consulting led the co-design and facilitation of a trilogy of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) workshops, supporting the development of inclusive and trust-driven strategies for the detection of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) in food and feed chains.
  • Ghent, March 2024 in collaboration with ILVO: The 1st RRI Workshop explored stakeholder priorities, roles, and perceptions, setting the stage for inclusive empowerment and governance frameworks.
  • Brussels, November 2024 in collaboration with Euroseeds: The 2nd RRI Workshop co-developed a vision and practical guidelines for a Stakeholder Empowerment Programme, embedding principles of transparency, accessibility, and trust.
  • Vienna, March 2025 in collaboration with AGES: The 3rd RRI Workshop focused on co-defining the DETECTIVE Community of Practice (CoP), including its mission, value proposition, and early engagement strategy. Key elements such as modular design, inclusive workgroups, and knowledge-sharing channels were shaped directly by stakeholder input.
These workshops involved stakeholders from EU countries representing food safety authorities, laboratories, breeders and industry from the whole food and feed value chain. The workshops are contributing to the co-creation of the the DETECTIVE CoP, the upcoming Stakeholder Empowerment Programme, and the foundation of a shared approach to traceability and transparency in the evolving landscape of NGT detection.

DETECTIVE – Detection of NGT products to promote innovation in the European union
DETECTIVE, a four-year EU-funded research project was launched in Malmö, Sweden, from 17 to 19 January 2024. It aims to develop, validate, and promote innovative detection methods for plant and animal products of new genomic techniques (NGTs) such as gene editing and cisgenesis.

Science-Policy Symposium regarding New Gene Technologies
XPRO Consulting Limited organised ogether with all GeneBEcon consortium and the Cyprus University of Technology the first Science-Policy Symposium about New Gene Tenchniques (NGTs) in plants and micro algae on 6 October 2023 in Limassol, Cyprus. The symposium goal was to showcase how NGTs can contribute to agriculture, aquaculture, food security and bio economy.  The symposium was under the hospices of the Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.  🔗Full symposium agenda here 👩‍💻 Open to multiple backgrounds

XPRO Consulting Limited celebrates 20 years of action, results, relations and networking in the European landscape!!
XPRO Consulting Limited is guiding the transitioning process towards Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus in four watersheds by applying its RRI Roadmap. NEXUS-NESS project partners have been trained in story-telling and participatory approaches and they have successfully involved stakeholders in their local areas from April - June 2022. The results from these co-design activities will be published soon! 
XPRO Consulting is organising the first Marine Biotechnology Hackathon in Europe and beyond on 10-11 July 2021!
The goal of the Hackathon is to identify the ingredients for creating a pan-European Marine Biotechnology Innovation Ecosystem of Excellence.
